This file describes how to generate the dcps CJ (CORBA Java) interface with an ORB of
choice.

REQUIREMENTS
------------

It is assumed that the user will make sure the following preconditions are met:

- A Java compiler and VM compatible with Java 1.5 or greater is available
- ORB idl processor is available
- The path is setup to include the preceding items
- Library paths are set (as required by the compiler, the ORB, etc)
- ORB specific environment variables are set
- The OpenSplice release.com script has been run
- The CJ lib can be generated with and without DDS_Time support for after year 2038.
To generate the CJ lib for the new Time definition set the environment variable OSPL_Y2038_READY_FLAG to -DOSPL_DDS_Y2038_READY in "orbdeps" file.
For more information about this new time definition see the deployment guide section Time stamps and year 2038 limit.

GENERATING THE CJ FOR THE SUPPORTED ORBs - JacORB/RTOrb
-------------------------------------------------------

The "BUILD" script in the java directory is setup to work with JacORB and RTOrb.
The dcpscj.jar in the distribution is built against JacORB. If you wish to build it
against RTOrb then all you have to do is type

sh BUILD

GENERATING FOR ANOTHER ORB
--------------------------

If you wish to compile the dcps CJ interface with another ORB, you will have to amend the "orbdeps" file accordingly:

- Amend the value of JAVA_ORB_IDL_COMPILER with the name of the executable of the Java ORB IDL compiler you wish to use.

- Amend the value of GEN_OUT_DIR_FLAG with the flag your IDL compiler provides for redirecting the generated output

- Amend the value of EXTRA_FLAGS with any extra flags your compiler requires

NOTE: The script will create a dcpscj.jar in the directory from where you run the script. You will need to copy the generated jar file in the
$OSPL_HOME/jar directory. MAKE A COPY of the existing $OSPL_HOME/jar/dcpscj.jar before replacing it with the new jar file.

GENERATING WITH THE PERC COMPILER
---------------------------------

If required, the CJ interface may be built using the Aonix PERC compiler. To
do so, set SPLICE_JDK=perc and run the percenv.sh script in the PERC
distribution -before- running the OpenSplice release.com script.

Note that the build process requires the 'jar' executable to create dcpscj.jar,
and as this is not provided in PERC you will need to have the Sun JDK or a
compatible jar implementation on your PATH.
